Dmitry Borovoy, founder of FMCSA compliance firm TruckerNavi Inc, has published Safety Manager: From Zero to Expert, a practical DOT and FMCSA compliance handbook for new carriers and safety managers. The book runs 310 pages across 18 chapters and 5 appendices. The Kindle, paperback (ISBN 9798190095845) and hardcover (ISBN 9798190098013) editions are rolling out on Amazon this week.
The handbook documents the compliance system TruckerNavi has run for client fleets since 2019: the Company File, Driver File and Unit File structure, a year-round compliance calendar, incident protocols for crashes, DOT inspections and Out-of-Service orders, and working procedures for HOS, IFTA, the Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse and DataQs challenges. The material is updated for FMCSA's 2026 Motus registration system and the April 2026 DataQs reform.
"You bought the truck. Now beat the paperwork," reads the back cover. The book is aimed at owner-operators opening their first trucking company and at dispatchers or drivers growing into a safety manager role.
A Russian-language PDF edition is sold directly at truckernavi.com/kniga. Companion materials for readers (form samples and checklists from the appendices) are available via truckernavi.com/en/book.
